Tymate TPMS Wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring System with 4pcs External Sensors (0-6.0 BAR/0-87 PSI) and 2.1A USB Charging Port, Real-time Displays 4 Tires’ Pressure, Temperature and Alarm Function
I have had my eye on these systems for a couple years now, but never committed to a purchase. As a mechanic, I was a bit skeptical relying on the o-ring of the sensor instead of the schrader valve in the wheel stem. However, my wife bought this for me as a birthday gift, and I’m glad she did. I’ve had the system installed for about two months and so-far, no leaks. I believe the locking nut and extra rubber shroud help prevent the sensor seal from road debris and contamination. We’ll see how it holds up through a harsh winter. 🙂
The system does read a little higher than my handheld pressure gauge, but at least all the sensors are consistent. I filled each tire precisely to 33.5 PSI and at the same temperature, the sensors ready 35. Not a big deal unless you are racing and/or very concerned about accurate tire pressures.
Installation took about 10 minutes. Instructions were very straightforward. On the first system start-up, one of the sensors took a little longer to register w/ the display module. Probably due to the distance separating the display and sensor module, but after 2 trips all the sensors were functioning normally. It is really cool to see the temperatures and pressures fluctuate with driving and road conditions.
Overall, it works as it should. On the plus side, the TPMS monitors are smaller than the other brands. It has a matte black finish making it less obvious on the wheel unlike the bigger and shiny ones that stand out like a blob at the tip of the valve stem.
